It is the start of a new year, which coincides with the start of data collection for selecting Good Beer Guide pubs. Enclosed is an A4 score sheet (pocket sized booklets can be collected at branch events). When you go into a pub SCORE the beers you drink and return to any Branch Officer. These scores are vital for making the selection for the Good Beer Guide. Please help. Online scoring also available at http://www.ssmcamra.org.uk/page6.html
The Stockport Beer and Cider Festival is fast coming upon us and the whole organising committee are determined to maintain the huge success of last year’s Festival in the teeth of the recession. So much so that we have increased the order for both beer and cider.
We still have a number of management posts to fill and if you are interested please ring Jim Flynn or come along to our next meeting on 9th February.
Put these May Festival dates in your diary
Setting up - Tuesday 26th to Thursday 28th
Drinking sessions - Thursday 28th, 5.30 to 11pm
Friday 29th - 11.30 to 3.30pm and 5.30 to 11pm
Saturday 30th - 5.30 to 4pm and 6.30 to 11pm
Knock down - Sunday 31st May
We will have well over 120 beers, ciders and perries available during the Festival period, so tell your friends to come along and enjoy themselves by sampling these great drinks and of course experiencing the unique atmosphere of the event.
This branch now has around 850 members, but each year only 1 in 10 of us help at what is the local Campaign’s premier event. Previously without members from elsewhere to assist us managing the Festival would have been very difficult. Please don’t leave it to others, complete the staffing form enclosed and return it to our new Staffing Officer, Margaret Corlett now.
I know the temptation is to wait until nearer the Festival but if you send in your form straight away it will ensure that you don’t double book that week. Sending your form in at the last minute will make Margaret’s job very difficult, so help her out in this her first year in post. Remember free beer and food is on offer for staff who help at the open sessions and at the Sunday knock down session. So come on, do your bit, and I guarantee you tyou will enjoy it!
DON’T DELAY - Send in your staffing form NOW!
